As a year draws to a close, its always tempting to look back over the last 12 months and consider how they’ve been. 2008 has been an eventful and enjoyable year for me, and I’d like to share a few snapshots of what my year has been like. …it was a very good year. No, it actually was. Well OK, is.
It all started pretty well with my best set of uni results ever, an awesome week’s holiday with friends and a great summer. 2 weeks sailing in Turkey was one of the best holidays ever, and then my 4th year at uni has been pretty OK too. But most of all, my big news…

The Easter holidays sees the National Student TV Association (NaSTA) conference and awards, which means YSTV has been preparing our awards entries. For the 4th year in a row I was on the team editing our Best Broadcaster entry, a 10 minute showreel of the station’s work over the last year. One weekend, many cans of Red Bull and 45 hours work later, and it was completed. We were pretty pleased with it. More oddly, I was nominated as YSTV’s “Best On-Screen Male” entry to the awards, which meant more editing fun for another 5-minute showreel.

Not a very exciting or witty post I’m afraid – I’m not feeling so great so I’m sitting here nursing a Lemsip, watching ABC1 and struggling to think of a witty title for this post. It may just not happen.
More news soon…maybe.

I’ve begun my fourth year project for real now, which means I’m supposed to be spending 40 hours a week working on it, but with no scheduled sessions, no requirement to be anywhere in particular, and no-one telling me what to do. And boy, that’s a little bit scary, I can tell you. Read the rest of this entry »
